Nancy Lee - 5/23/2011

Class of 1954

Hurricane, Utah - Nancy Lee, 75, of Appleton, MN and originally of Hurricane, passed away on Monday, May 23, 2011 at her home in Appleton. She was born February 15, 1936, in Hurricane, Utah to Ben and Hazel (Langston) Lee. She was baptized and confirmed on April 2, 1944, in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She graduated from seminary in 1952. She also served as a Primary and Sunday School teacher and activity counselor in Mutual. She attended Hurricane High School.

Nancy married Terrence Carroll Heaton on October 14, 1953. This union was blessed with two children, Clair and Lorna Heaton. After this marriage dissolved, Nancy married George Wilson, adding five more children to her family. Nancy often said that being a good mom to her seven children was the greatest achievement and the best reward in her life.

Nancy was employed at the J. F. Bellini Company in Las Vegas, Nevada where she served as office manager in bookkeeping, credit and collections. She retired in 1997 after 18 years and moved to Appleton to be with Dale. She became active in the VFW, sewing bibs, chemo hats, and wheelchair carriers. She was a talented seamstress, a great cook, and enjoyed working outside, gardening, canning, ironing, golf, and most of all doing for others. She was a lifetime member of the DAV Auxiliary where she served as state commander, and in addition to the National DAV where she served as executive secretary for five years. She was also a member of the Appleton Golf Club.

This amazing woman loved life and lived it to the fullest. Nancy touched so many lives in so many special ways, and was loved and admired by all. She was very outgoing and was blessed with a terrific sense of humor. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandkids, great-grandkids, and the love of her life, Dale Stevens. She was the most thoughtful, generous, loving, understanding, compassionate, caring mom, grandmother, and friend. Nancy will be deeply missed by all.

Nancy is survived by her loving companion and best friend, Dale Stevens, of Appleton, MN; five children: Lorna (Ken) Heaton Bozzo, Kathy (Bob) Straits, Gary Wilson, Jeanne Isakson, Tim (Karen) Wilson, and daughter-in-law, Kay Wilson; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Carma (George) Lang; and many adopted family, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Hazel Lee; and two sons: Clair Heaton and Grant Wilson
