Mark Henry Roberts Jr. - 6/12/2018
Class of 1995
Mark Henry Roberts, Jr. was taken from our earthly family on June 12, 2018. Our hearts are broken to lose our husband, father, brother, uncle and friend so soon in life. Mark was born as part of a dynamic duo with his twin brother Anthony to Mark Sr. and Julie Roberts on May 4, 1977 in Orange, California. While attending Hillcrest High school in Midvale, Utah he met his eternal sweetheart Annie Oliver and they have been inseparable ever since. They were married on April 18, 1996 in Salt Lake City.Mark had a heart as big as the mountain sky. His family was his everything. Mark showed his love to his wife through frequently posting awkward pictures of her eating, or playing or even sleeping. As uncomfortable as they may have been, the focus of Mark’s camera and his life never shifted. Annie was the morning sun and the evening stars to Mark. He and Annie were blessed with three handsome sons Andrew, Taylor, and Porter. But Mark and Annie have also been blessed by countless other “sons” through sports and church activities who found refuge from the world within the walls of their home.
While many people collect “things” in life, Mark and Annie collected experiences. From local trips to far-flung adventures at the end of a flight, Mark, Annie and the boys experienced the world together and often with the company of their extended family. He referred to his family as his “Pride of Lions” and pride was something he felt every single day for his wife and boys.
To Mark it wasn’t just blood that made you family. Once he loved you he was forever loyal. He never sought recognition but he was a central figure in helping to resolve so many problems in the lives of others. He believed in service and he wore himself out serving others. No problem was too small or too large to escape Mark’s loving hands. A simple call would unleash all the resources he had available to assist family or friends.
Mark’s desire was to see his sons grow and mature into good, hard-working men. So, in his words “Win the day boys! Win the day!”
Mark is survived by his celestial companion and wife, Annie, his three son’s Andrew, Taylor and Porter; his six brothers and sisters: Lisa (Doug Johnson), Eric (Cathy), Anthony, Todd (Erica), Katie (Travis Andra), and Cassie. Annie’s family: Randy and Trudy Oliver, Jennie (Andrew Ault), Katie (Royce Young), and Emelie Oliver. He was preceded in death by his parents Mark and Julie (Snow) Roberts.
