Joyce McQuarrie Joseph - 1/21/2010

Class of 1951

Joyce McQuarrie Joseph passed away January 27, 2010. She was 75.

Joyce was born February 11, 1934, to Edward and Ina McQuarrie in Beaver, Utah, where she lived most of her life. She graduated from Beaver High School and then attended Brigham Young University for one year. She married her high school sweetheart, Dan Joseph, on January 14, 1953 in the St. George Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Joyce and Dan began their married life in Roseville, California, but quickly found themselves on the move when Dan joined the Air Force during the Korean conflict. They first went to Wichita Falls, Texas and then settled for a while in Spokane, Washington, where they had their first two children.

Eventually they returned to Beaver where they raised their six children. Joyce dedicated her life to her family, creating a home that her husband, children, and grandchildren will always treasure.

Joyce was very active in the LDS Church, serving in several capacities. She was also supportive of the Beaver community. She served on the Beaver Valley Hospital Board and was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Joyce would often volunteer to help as needed in the schools and with community events. She will be remembered and missed by many.

Joyce is survived by her husband, Dan, her children Lynette, Derald (Linda), Jeff (Mitzi), Dan (Holly), Nathan, Karen (Jesús), 16 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren, as well as two sisters, Ina Marie Christensen and Rhonda McQuarrie. She is preceded in death by her parents and a toddler sister, Donna.
