Class of 1947
Mom left her earthly life at the age of 81 on Monday March 28, 2011. She was born in Murray, Utah on May 14, 1929, the oldest child of Myrtle Dearden and Alma Jennings. She grew up in Ogden and graduated from Ogden High School.She married Arlin Tracy Barnes; they later divorced. She was a wonderful Mother and example to their two children, Kent and Karen. She married Dr. Gilbert Wright who preceded her in death.
She enjoyed an active professional life having worked in the insurance and legal fields. In her retirement she lived in St. George and Riverdale where she enjoyed spending time doing crafts and especially loved sharing the beautiful cards she so carefully created.
She loved being a Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother. We admired her ability to make friends wherever she went.
Mom, we will miss you tremendously, but we will always have our memories of you and the lessons you taught us as guides in our lives.
Barbara is survived by son Kent J. Barnes of Murray; daughter Karen McFarland and husband Ron of West Weber; grandchildren, Kristy Manning of Bellevue, WA, Christopher Barnes of Herriman, Michelle Peterson of Taylor, Jennifer Jenkins of Ogden, Ryan Barnes of Sandy, Geoff Barnes of Sandy and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Dearden Jennings.
