RIVERDALE – Dale Jay Steed, 78, passed away Saturday, February 12, 2011 surrounded by his loving family.He was born June 14, 1932 in Ogden, Utah to George Anson and Carrie Stokes Steed.
He was a veteran serving in the Navy during the Korean Conflict.
Dale married Sharon Mann August 16, 1954 in Bountiful, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.
Dale graduated from Ogden High School and Weber State College. He has lived in Bountiful for five years and Ogden area for 73 years.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served as High Priest.
Retiring as an electrician from Union Pacific Railroad after 32 years of service. He was a 14 year volunteer for Oregon State Parks. He loved photography, reading science fiction, music, enjoyed attending functions of children and grandchildren, dearly loved his dogs, Lacy, Ayla and Lucky.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon, children; Michelle Stone and Paul Plett, Bryan E. (Nanette) Steed; Cara J. Steed, six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving are siblings; Louis (Buelah) Steed, Lawana Smith, Pauline (Ralph) Coombs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Carrie Steed, brothers and sisters, Ella Steed, Darrell Steed, Thayne Steed, and Elmer Steed, and daughter Dalene.
