Charles J. (Gus) Hansen - 7/1/2011
Class of 1953
Dad is dancing with Mom for Jesus. He left this earthly life at 76 on July 1, 2011 at home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born Jan. 26, 1935 to Bill and Jane Hansen. One Sept. 6, 1953, he married high school sweetheart, Carlyn Fraser from Ogden High School. They had just celebrated 50 years when Mom was called home.Gus retired from the Ogden City Fire Dept. after many years, working his way up to the youngest Fire Chief. Gus and Carlyn also owned and operated a motel in Brigham City for many years.
Dad liked to say he was "Jack of all trades and a master of none" but we believe he was a master of many. He would attempt any project and finalize it to perfection. He loved working with his hands, he was amazing with wood, building homes, boats, clothing, cooking, gardening, and he was an outstanding athlete. He enjoyed spending time with his family. Most of all he knew and loved his Lord Jesus.
Gus is survived by his daughters, Deborah Kay Hansen of Brigham City, Pam (Forrest) Stuart of Harrisville, and his 2 sons, Mitch (Linda) Hansen of Brigham City, and Lance (Jan) Hansen who took wonderful care of him the last months of his life. He also leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his bride, his parents, 1 brother, Ron, and 2 grandchildren.
