Marilyn Paine Harwood - 1/13/2011

Class of 1943

Ogden- Marilyn Paine Harwood passed away peacefully on January 13, 2011. She was born August 6, 1926 in Ogden, to Dr. William Samuel and Minnie Clark Paine. She married Billie Jensen Harwood on June 14, 1950 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

When she was eight years old, her family moved to Salt Lake City, where her father practiced oral surgery. Upon his death seven years later, she and her mother moved back to Ogden, where she graduated from Ogden High School in 1943. She received an associate degree from Weber State College.

She has been an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving as Primary President, Relief Society President, teacher and counselor. She was a devoted wife and mother, taking care of her husband for many years with Alzheimer's disease. Even in her poorest health, she would always ask about each of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and the things going on in their lives.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents and her three sisters, Ruth Raymond, Dorothy Swan, and Margaret Wright. She is survived by her husband, Billie, Ogden, Utah; children, Greg (Kathy) Harwood Brooklet, Georgia; Paul Harwood, Dallas, Texas; Julie (Bret) Pringle, Morgan, Utah; Karen (Don) Billmire, Clinton, Utah; 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Aspen Care Center and Legacy Home Health & Hospice for the tender care given to our mother.
