Nadine Smith Drysdale Gygi-Crouch - 3/4/2011

Class of 1978

Syracuse – Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend tragically passed away Friday, March 4, 2011, due to complications from surgery. Nadine was born September 8, 1959, in Ogden, Utah to Wallace and Afton Smith. She grew up in Ogden and graduated from Ben Lomond High School in 1977. She graduated with a degree in Education from Weber State University and taught 4th grade for 28 years until she retired. She loved being a teacher, and excelled at it.

Nadine married David Drysdale on June 4, 1980, they were later divorced. In 1998 she was re-united with her childhood sweetheart Ken Gygi. They were married April 2, 1999 and were later sealed for time and eternity in the Logan Temple. Ken later passed away due to a hiking accident. She then married Peter Crouch on June 21, 2008. Nadine was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many callings, her favorite being Primary.

Nadine loved being with her grandchildren. She was their buddy and pal. She loved reading, crafting, and photography. Her latest adventure was travelling to Africa to volunteer in the Mothers Without Borders Program, where she touched many lives.

Nadine is survived by her husband, Peter of Syracuse; loving children, Christy (Colton) Walters of Clinton and Ryan (Lyndsi) Drysdale of Clinton; and four beautiful grandchildren, Halle, Jaden, Taylor and Taytum. Siblings, W Dean (Joanne) Smith, Carlene (Roger) Blaine, Glen (Tami) Smith, and Marilyn (Bill) Streeper. Nadine also leaves behind her step-children, Mike (Shauna) Gygi and Scott (Natalie) Gygi, and two step-grandchildren, Dylan and Kaitlyn.

Nadine was preceded in death by her husband Ken; her parents and her niece, Jennifer.
