Nicole Green-Mower - 10/7/2009

Class of 1994

Nicole Green-Mower, beloved wife, sister, daughter and friend passed away at the age of 32 after suffering an aneurysm of the brain. She was born on December 22, 1976 in Logan, Utah to Joe Green and Katherine Jones. She was married to Scott Joseph Mower on March 23, 1996 in Washington, UT.

Nicole and her family moved to Washington, Utah where she was raised from two years old. In school she was an exceptional student and attended Pine View middle and high school. After finishing high school Nicole went on Dixie College and then to SUU where she received a bachelors degree in chemistry. Nicole received a scholarship to attend The University of Texas in Austin Texas where she pursued a PHD in chemistry. Like her father and mother, Nicole enjoyed teaching more than anything and received her certification to become a teacher. She taught 7th grade for one year at Mendez middle school and then became a full time teacher’s assistant for The University of Texas. After five years in Austin, Texas Nicole and her husband moved back to southern Utah. At the time of her death Nicole was working with her husband running St. George Transmission in Cedar City.

Nicole was perpetually happy and upbeat. No matter what, she always wore a smile and seemed to have an innate ability to spread cheer to those around her. Nicole enjoyed scrap-booking and crafts and was always working on a gift for someone. Nicole had a passion for politics and was constantly studying issues and writing to her congressmen and representatives. Nicole had a voracious appetite for books and was often reading several at a time.

Nicole is survived by her husband Scott J. Mower (Cedar City, UT); her sister Adrienne Bryant (San Francisco, CA); her brother Anthony Green (Portland, OR); her mother Katherine Green (Albuquerque, NM); her father, Joe Green (St. George, UT) and Mother-in-law, Gloria Mower (St. George, UT) as well as many other people who loved her dearly. Nicole was one of the kindest, most generous people one could hope to meet and we are all better people for having known her. Thank you for your love and friendship sweetheart, you will be dearly missed.
