Benjamin Black Thomas Ellingson, age 27, died June 25, 1996. He was born Sept. 27, 1968.
Ben had a heart full of love that he shared with many people. He had a smile for everyone. He loved drawing, writing poetry, playing the drums, and especially playing ball with his son, Raven. He served an honorable LDS mission in Lisbon, Portugal from 1988-1990.Ben intended on becoming a drug and alcohol counselor. He made it his personal mission to befriend everyone and make them feel they belonged somewhere and were loved. He struggled mightily with the hardships and temptations of life; but he never gave up. He was love; he was joy; and ultimately a blessing in the lives of those who were a part of his earthly existence.
Ben is survived by his wife, Holly and his son, Raven, Eugene, Oregon; parents, William and Joy Ellingson, Provo; Duane Thomas, Helendale, Calif; Ron Hartung, Eugene, Oregon; two brothers, Matthew Ellingson (Julie), West Valley; David Thomas (Jaimie Nation), Hesperia, Calif.; two sisters, Kristen Huddleston (Karl), Provo; Tippi Yoast (Justin), Provo; grandfather, Marvin Black, Phelan, Calif. He also leaves behind many special cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Lillian Black.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 29, 1996 at 2 p.m. at the Berg Drawing Room Chapel, 185 East Center, Provo. Friends may call at the mortuary one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Provo City Cemetery.
