Stanley Clark Jones, 45, passed away on August 25, 2014. He was born in St George, Utah to Eddie Mac Jones and Raylene Peabody Jones. Stan married Melea Hinton in the St. George Temple Nov. 21st 2009, and they later moved to Cedar City, Utah.
Stan was the oldest boy of eight children, so he learned to be a caretaker at an early age. Although he earned the nickname of Stan the Man early in life, his many older sisters always made sure he knew that they were the ones in charge. Stan was raised in Washington City, and attended Pine View High School where he was well known for his kind heart and willingness to help anyone in need. He was a friend and guardian to many at an early age.
At the age of 18, Stan was involved in a tragic motorcycle accident that changed his life forever. After months in a coma, he recovered to start a lifelong, valiant battle with brain trauma and seizures. Years later, he married Melea, who would be his faithful partner and caretaker for many years, until his death.
Stan is survived by his wife, Melea Hinton Jones; his parents, Eddie Mac and Raylene Jones; his siblings Shauna Jones, Cynthia Jones, Annette (Jones) and Andy Ellis, Rulon and Valerie Jones, Carolyn (Jones) and Kevin Chamberlain, Eddie and Jacqueline Jones, and Marvin and Chelsea Jones.
Funeral services will be held at the Spilsbury Mortuary Chapel at 110 S. Bluff Street, St. George, Utah on Friday August 29, 2014. Viewing will begin at 10:00 AM, with the funeral beginning at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at the Hurricane City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made at any Zions bank in the name of Stanley Clark Jones.
