Howard S. Mitchell, age 54, of St. George, Utah, passed away on September 21, 2012 from a short but valiant fight with pancreatic cancer. He was born April 24, 1958 in Las Vegas, Nevada. His parents are Jed S. and June F. Mitchell.Howard attended area schools and graduated from Dixie High School. Howard joined the National Guard upon graduation and it was during this time he developed his love of hunting and target practice. He developed a keen interest in guns which he enjoyed as much as possible. Howard enjoyed spending time with family, hunting, fishing, and gold panning. Spending time in the outdoors was his passion.
Howard married Michelle Earle. This union was blessed with two children, Andrea and Jared. They later divorced. Howard then married Laurie Scarkino. They too were blessed with two children, Brandon and Jeremy. They also later divorced.
Howard was a jack-of-all-trades. He held jobs in concrete work and construction and as a millwright. Howard served in the U.S. Army with a tour of duty in Wahiawa, Hawaii. He lived many places but always returned to his boyhood home in Utah.
Howard is survived by his father, Jed Mitchell; daughter, Andrea; sons, Jared, Brandon and Jeremy Mitchell; grandsons, Tiler, Alex and Niklaus. He is also survived by Michelle and Laurie Mitchell, with whom he has remained friends, as well as aunts, uncles and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother, June F. Mitchell and brother, Earle Scott Mitchell.
