ST. GEORGE - Wade LeGrande Hafen, age 39, died Sunday, February 27, 2005, as a result of complications due to a 4-wheeler accident on Saturday, February 26. He was born December 14, 1965, in St. George, Utah, a son of LeGrande Graf and LuJuanna Southers Hafen.While Wade was in elementary school, he and his family moved to Enterprise, Utah. He loved sports and was a Little League All-Star. In 1974, they moved to Santa Clara, Utah, where he grew up, graduating from Dixie High School, Class of 1984. He played football with the Dixie Flyers, and in his spare time he worked for Ben Franklin. He also was active in Scouts.
After graduation, Wade moved to the Lake Tahoe area and worked in construction for the following year and a half. He also worked as a talented interior plasterer in Eagle Valley, Colorado. In 2004, he moved back home to work with his brother, Derek, building homes in St. George and surrounding area.
Wade loved being outdoors, riding 4-wheelers, snowmobiles, and jet ski's. He also enjoyed skiing and was part of the Ski Patrol at Elk Meadows in Beaver, Utah.
Outgoing, caring, tender-hearted, thoughtful, talented, loving, creative, a good friend, and a wonderful son describe the way his family and friends remember Wade. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints.
Surviving family include his: parents, LeGrande and LuJuanna, of Santa Clara, UT; siblings, Tina (Terry) Wilde, of Ivins, UT, Derek Hafen, of St. George, UT, Wendy (Michael) Isom, of St. George, UT, and Jayme (Meisha) Hafen, of Salt Lake City, UT; grandparents, Grant Hafen, of Santa Clara, UT, and Verna Southers, of Hurricane, UT; nieces and nephews, Kennedy, Cassidy, Kaylee, Cody, Ryan, and Kadin. He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Elva Hafen.
