Antone W. Hinton - 7/3/2005

HURRICANE - Antone W. Hinton, age 78, passed away Sunday, July 3, 2005, in Hurricane. He was born September 30, 1926, in Hurricane, Utah, to James M. and Cleesa C. Cox Hinton. Antone married Mauna Rae on September 26, 1956. She preceded him in death on April 7, 1987. He then married Norine Stapley on February 20, 1990.

Antone was born and raised in Hurricane, graduating from Hurricane High School. In 1948, he joined the U.S. Army, serving for two years. While living in LaVerkin, he worked for the California Pacific Utility Company for 20 years. He lived in Henderson, Nevada, for two years, working at OK Tires.

Antone was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a mission in the Northeastern mission. He also served in the LaVerkin bishopric and as a temple ordinance worker.

Antone loved his grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and the outdoors. He was a member of the Hurricane American Legion.

Surviving family include his: wife, Norine, of Hurricane, UT; three sons, Irvin Hinton, of Phoenix, AZ, Antone Ray Hinton, of Moapa, NV, and Craig (Lucinda) Hinton, of Mesquite, NV; two daughters, Marlene (John) Williams, of Mesquite, NV, and Jill (Jon) Paxman, of St. George; 8 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; stepchildren, Chuck (Laurie) Cracraft, Marie (Reed) Langston, and Grant Cracraft, all of Hurricane, UT; 10 step-grandchildren; and 1 step-great-grandchild; brothers, Glendon Hinton, of Hurricane, UT, and Orvin D. (Sally) Hinton, of St. George. He was preceded in death by his: parents; daughter, Susan Hinton; brothers, LaVar, Dale, and Merwin Hinton; and sisters, Vonne Dungan, and Melva and Elva Hinton.
