Gwenn Georgene "Jean" Loader (Alldredge) - 11/10/2013

Class of 1938

On November 10, 2013, a beautiful warm fall day, Gwenn Georgene (Jeanne) Loader Alldredge 93, our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend passed away into the eternities. She was born September 16, 1920 in Pleasant Grove, Utah to Earl Elias Loader and Eva May Lewis.

At an early age she learned how to work hard, along with her three sisters, on the fruit farm her family owned. During the depression they never went hungry because they always had fruit and other food. Jeanne enjoyed socializing and this was evident in her high school years where she was a cheerleader at Pleasant Grove High School. At the age of 20 she met the love of her life, Fred Alldredge, at a dance and they were married in the Salt Lake Temple less than 1 year later. Together Fred and Jeanne raised 6 children and 1 foster child, the first of which was born handicapped. This special child was the refiner's fire that molded her into the great mother that she was. Shortly after the birth of the first child, Fred was called to serve overseas in World War II while Jeanne waited faithfully for 2 years in a log cabin with no running water.

Jeanne loved music and tried to put music into all of her children thru lessons on the piano and other instruments, which wasn't always well received at first. Jeanne was a master at creating and doing good with her hands. She was an expert at cooking, sewing, knitting, crocheting and anything to do with homemaking. She taught her children this same gift. Jeanne was her children's greatest supporter and cheerleader in their personal endeavors. She had high expectations and never wanted her children to live beneath their potential. Jeanne worked many years with her companion as the first distributors for Neo-Life Company of America and as a Real Estate agent for Perry Realty but her greatest work was that of a homemaker.

Jeanne was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held many positions, including ward Young Women's president, Relief Society counselor, Stake Dance Director and Primary worker. She served many years in the Jordan River and St. George Temple with her companion. She also fulfilled a service mission in St. George, Utah. She will be forever loved and missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her children Fred, Peggy (Ken), Kay (Debbie), Kim (Lina) and Suzanne, nineteen grandchildren, forty-four great grandchildren, sisters Dot, Barbara, and Earlene. Preceded in death by her parents, husband Fred, daughter Bonnie and grandson Cory. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the caring staff at Holliday Care Center.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, November 19th at 11:00 a.m. at Wasatch 5th Ward 8100 S. Top of World Dr. (3675 E.). A viewing will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 10-45 a.m. Tuesday preceding the services.
