Wendy Logan Schiro - 3/5/2012

Class of 1974

In the early morning of March 5th 2012, Wendy Logan Schiro (56) left behind the sufferings of this world, & began her journey to a better place. The last years of her life were spent engaged in battle with cancer, and it was during this time that she showed us all what it truly means to be both strong and kind.

Wendy was born in Provo April 27, 1956. She was the only child of Wonderful Parents, William & Lucile Logan, who showed her what it meant to be a good person. She took these lessons to heart and kept them alive till the very end. Wendy was a good student and the hardest worker I've ever met. She graduated with a degree in social work, but went to work as an electrician for the IBEW because she could make more money, which she needed to help care for her own mother after her father passed away. Later in life she went back to school and got a degree in nursing a career she really loved because it allowed her to help people. She worked on the 6th floor of U.V.R.M.C till her body could no longer keep up with her spirits desire to serve and even then she was grateful for being able to be part of a clinical trial so that in the future perhaps someone would not have to go through the pain that she endured.

Wendy spent her entire life living in Utah county and the majority of that in Lindon. Somewhere along the line she met Tony Lamar Schiro and they were wed Christmas Eve of 1983. March 21st 1985 she gave birth to her only child William Anthony Schiro. When it came to being a mother she was unequaled (and it wasn't uncommon to hear Williams friends saying so). Both Tony and William live on although doing so without Wendy will prove difficult. Her boundless compassion. Unconditional love and intense strength will live on as her spirit shall in every life she touched.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Friday, March 9, 2012 at the Heather Ridge 1st Ward, 620 East Heather Road, Orem, Utah with a viewing at the church prior to services from 9:45 to 10:45 am. Interment at the Provo City Cemetery. All are welcome to pay their respects to this amazing woman (If possible please bring living plants rather than flowers that will die. She loved watching things grow).

Much gratitude goes to the Huntsman Cancer Center, as well as Hospice. I truly appreciate your kind understanding in what is a very difficult time. Also very important thanks to the Davis family. Preston, Dixie, & Justin, You invited us into your home and allowed some of my mom's last memories to be of laughing in a safe place surrounded by those who loved her.

A "fuzzy", in this case, is a feeling or an emotion like "I miss you", "I love you", or just "thinking of you". Fuzzies can be left every day.
