Many hearts are heavy at this time with the passing of a valiant man, Mark Raymond Clements, 40, of Draper, Utah. His death came at the end of a 15 month struggle with cholangiocarcinoma, a rare form of liver cancer. Mark's desire from the time of his diagnosis was that he spend as much valuable time with his family as possible. Mark and Marianne found their greatest joy in their children, and loved to attend all of their activities.Mark was born in Gridley, California to C. Ray and Mary Clements.
Mark attended Pleasant Grove High School where he was active in many sports.
He served an LDS Mission to Louisville, Kentucky. He returned home and married the love of his life, Marianne Murdock on May 18, 1989 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
He attended Brigham Young University and received his Bachelors Degree. He later attended law school at Stanford University and graduated with honors.
He was a partner in the law firm of Hatch, James and Dodge of Salt Lake. He also worked in the firm of BTJD and PB& L of Salt Lake.
Mark served on the High Council of the Corner Canyon Stake in Draper at the time of his diagnosis. He was a wonderful speaker and teacher and a dedicated servant of the Lord.
Mark loved BYU sports and traveled to many away games with friends and family.
Mark is survived by his wife Marianne and four children: Patrick (16), Chase (13), Tessa (8), Lucas (1); father, C. Ray Clements (Lana), Salt Lake; mother, Mary C. Lay, Pleasant Grove; siblings: Kelley Giles (Geret), Pleasant Grove; Stacie Lindsey (Bryan), Herriman; and Amy Pollock (Rick), Stansbury Park.
