Harold R Bullock

Class of 1960

Harold R. Bullock, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, returned home January 9, 2012.

Harold was born December 30, 1941 in American Fork, Utah to goodly parents, Harold Harris Bullock and Lola Robbins of Pleasant Grove, Utah.

Harold was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and faithfully served the Lord in the Central British Mission and in many callings throughout his life, his most beloved service being that of home teacher and temple worker in the Jordan River Temple and Ogden Temples for 15 years.

Harold had a special quick and witty sense of humor and easily made friends wherever he went. He was a man of great faith and had an abiding testimony of our Lord, Jesus Christ. He was ready, willing and able to defend his faith and knowledge of the Gospel, boldly speaking out for truth and right. He was true to his convictions and served his fellowman in whatever capacity he was called upon to serve. Whether in leadershi0p or lay positions, church or civic, he faithfully accomplished every duty required of him with a glad heart.

Harold retired from Utah Power & Light Company after 30 years of devoted service; was also active in many community service organizations.

Harold married Carla Young (divorced). To this union was born his beloved children: Paul (Maria), Sean (Neena), Michael (Carrie), Alicia Peterson and Shelli (Jer) Gunn. He loved his children. Later he married Sybil Nielsen in the Jordan River Temple for Eternity. He was devoted to her, her children and grandchildren and they love him: Owen (Amy), Carolyn, William (Donna), David (Kim), Helen (Dan), Jefferson (Jessica), Golden (Sarah), Emelie (Craig), Anna (Adam) and Esther (Trent). Harold is survived by his wife and friend, Sybil, 40 grandchildren, brothers Brent (Connie) and Lynn (Barbara) Bullock; preceded in death by his son, Sean, stepson, Robert, parents, and sisters Georgia (Don) and Joyce. Thank you, dearest Harold, for your faithful life, your humor, happiness and your love.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Homestead Ward Chapel, 2339 West 1900 South, Syracuse, Utah. Friends and family may attend a viewing on Friday, January 13, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Larkin Mortuary, 1950 E. 10600 South, Sandy, Utah, also one hour prior to services on Saturday at the church in Syracuse. Interment will be at Larkin Sunset Gardens, Sandy, Utah.

Special appreciation is given to Dr. John Thomson, friend and oncologist with the Huntsman Cancer Institute and to VistaCare Hospice whose hands were the Lord's hands; also to family, friends, neighbors and ward members who loved, cared, visited and encouraged Harold through long, hard days.
