Francis Edward Long, 46, died Friday, June 23, 2006, at the Heritage Hill Health Care Center in Nephi, after a long struggle with diabetes and its complications.
He was born in Nephi, August 14, 1959, the son of Jack and Betty Davis Long. He worked as a metal heat-treater, buffer, and polisher, both for a living and as a hobby. He also loved fishing in his spare time.
He is survived by his mother and step-father, Betty and LaRay Coombs; a daughter, Patty (Ross) Kappen; a brother, Jack Long; three sisters: Pearl Fangel, Margie Kone, and LaJean O'Neil; and a grandson, Garrick Kappen. Preceded in death by his father, Jack; a daughter, Tabitha; and a sister, Betty Ann Penrod.
Following cremation, memorial services will be at 2 p.m., Friday, June 30, 2006, at the 7th & 8th Ward LDS Church in Nephi.
