Dennis Frank Holdaway, age 63, of Orem, passed away November 25, 2010. He was born March 26, 1947, in Orem, Utah to Hugh VonLoy and Margaret Emma Yocum Holdaway. He married Carol Grace Dexter on August 19, 1967 in Orem, Utah. They were later sealed with their children for time and all eternity in the Provo LDS temple.Dennis was born in Orem and raised in Lindon. He graduated from Pleasant Grove High School. Dennis attended BYU and Southern Utah University. He was in the army reserve for 11.5 years and was Honorable Discharged as a Staff Sergeant. Dennis worked for Geneva Steel as a pipe fitter for 33 years. He served as the Union President of the local #2701 as well as the chairman of the Democratic Party in Utah county. He enjoyed cooking, art, history and reading. His wife Carol and his family were always his top priority. He always made sure they were first and taken care of. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and had served in many calling throughout the years, including, High Priest, Home Teacher, Sunday School Teacher, and temple worker. He will be remembered for the compassionate service and thoughtfulness that he always showed others.
He is survived by his wife, Carol of Orem; and four sons: Paul Dennis (Alyson) Holdaway of Spanish Fork; Robert Spencer (Jacki) Holdaway of Orem; Joshua Von (Jennifer) Holdaway of Springville; and Seth Michael (Melissa) Holdaway of Pleasant Grove; 15 grandchildren and his loving dog LaVerne; a sister, Mareen LaVon (Victor L.) Brown Jr. and a brother, Donald Hugh (Gayle) Holdaway. He is preceded in death by is mother and father, as well as 2 brothers, Marvon Duane Holdaway and Robert Earl Holdaway. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and son.
