Donna Shumway Caldwell, 83, of Grantsville, passed away on October 22, 2014, in Tooele, Utah.Donna was born November 8, 1930, in Lindon, Utah, to Samuel Douglas and Lucial Shoell Shumway. She married Peter Dale Caldwell on November 7, 1951. They had three children: Randy (Carol) Caldwell of Grantsville, Larry Caldwell of North Salt Lake, and Laura (Irvin) McCrory of Grantsville.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, a sister and a great-grandson. She is survived by her children; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; a brother, Kay Shumway; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Thompson; and a brother-in-law, Sharion Caldwell. Pete and Donna enjoyed their trips to West Port, Washington, and spending their winters at Quail Lake. Donna’s passions were crocheting, painting, playing games, doing puzzles and she loved to read. She made many beautiful quilts and afghans. She was a member of the LDS church and held callings in the library and the Primary.
Graveside services were held at the Grantsville Cemetery on October 27, 2014. A special thank you to the staff at the Magnolia House in Tooele and to Harmony Home Health for their loving care of Donna. Mom, we love you and will miss you.
