Kodi Ann Lamb Nielsen came into this world on June 11th, 1973 to the proud parents, Paul and Sherri Lamb, and her older excited brother Shane. Kodi was born in Provo, Utah and spent her entire life in Utah County. Kodi spent the first 5 years of her life in Provo. When Kodi was 4 years old, her younger brother, Casey was born. Kodi attended kindergarten at Sunset Elementary in Provo. She moved to Orem at age 6 to live with Grandpa and Grandma Jarvis while her family’s new home in Pleasant Grove was being built. During this time she attended 1st grade at Sharon Elementary in Orem. The home in Pleasant Grove was completed in March of 1980 at which time she moved to the home that became her home for the rest of her life. Kodi attended 2nd grade at Central Elementary and the remainder of her grade school years at Lindon Elementary. During this time her baby brother, Brady, was born. Kodi attended Pleasant Grove Junior High and then Pleasant Grove High School where she received her high school diploma in 1991.Kodi married Benjamin Louis Nielsen her senior year of high school and together they had 3 beautiful children, Taylar Ann Nielsen, Maycie Allyn Nielsen, and Benjamin Landon Nielsen. Kodi and Ben with their 3 children lived in Pleasant Grove and Orem for the 18 years they were married. Kodi and Ben were divorced in 2009 but remained friends.
Kodi decided to pursue her dream in life of becoming a chef and owning her own restaurant by going to Salt Lake Community College and working on her Culinary Arts Degree. She later transferred to the Utah Valley University where she continued her education until her ATV accident on April 9th, 2010. Due to this accident Kodi lost her right ear and suffered from a stroke caused by the closing of her left vertebral artery. This started a series of many medical issues which continued from then until her death on December 3rd, 2010.
Kodi leaves behind the most precious things in her life, her 3 children Taylar, Maycie, and Landon. Her 3 brothers and their wives, Shane (Angela), Casey (Crystal), Brady (Bethany) and her parents, Paul and Sherri. Her 11 nieces and nephews that she loved like her own children and will miss their hugs and snuggles. She also leaves behind her 2 grandmothers Elsie Jarvis and Phyllis Murdock. Kodi leaves behind many family members that she loved, Norma Nielsen, who was like a 2nd mother to her, Ben, and lots of uncles, aunts, and cousins. Kodi was preceded in death by a nephew, Cayden Brady Lamb, Grandpa Gene Lamb, Grandma Loudean Lamb, Grandpa Dick Jarvis, Grandpa Bert Murdock, her father-in-law Lyman Nielsen, and her sister-in-law, Pam Hiatt. Kodi leaves behind many dear friends that meant a lot to her and were a great support to her.
A fund has been set up for Kodi’s children at any branch of Utah Community Credit Union.
