Our Loving mother, Eva Pedersen Reimschussel, 90 passed away Saturday, September 30, 2017 of natural causes at her Pleasant Grove home surrounded by family.Eva was born April 23, 1927 in Oasis, Utah. She was the oldest of Emily Elizabeth Anderson and Sigurd Allen Pedersen’s four children n. In 1930, the family moved to property near Emily’s childhood home in Pleasant Grove. Eva attended local schools, graduating from Pleasant Grove High School in 1945. On September 3, 1947 she married Walter M. Reimschussel in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Together they had four children. Walt passed on April 10, 1998 after 50 wonderful years of marriage.
The joy of Eva’s life was her family and the students she loved throughout her many years of teaching in Alpine School District. Long after she retired, she continued to work with children as a volunteer tutor at the library and the local schools her grandchildren attended where everyone knew and loved “Grandma Eva.”
Eva was a faithful member of the LDS church and a disciple of Christ, serving diligently in numerous callings with unfailing kindness and compassion. Eva and Walt served three temple missions in Bern, Switzerland; Nuku’alofa, Tonga; and Freiberg, Germany. Throughout her life, she found joy in service and would reach out with willing hands and a patient and loving heart to family, friends, neighbors and strangers. She will be remembered for her selflessness by all who have been blessed to know her.
She was preceded in death by her husband Walt and grandson Jared W. Reimschussel. She is survived by her siblings Allen Dean Pederson, Myrle Roundy and Maureen Clark, her children Julie (Tom) Sugden of Medford, Oregon, Kent (Emily), Alan (Lori), and Lynn (Suzette) all of Pleasant Grove, thirteen grandchildren, and nineteen great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 5, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Timpanogos 4th Ward, 425 East 500 North, Pleasant Grove, UT, viewing from 9:30 - 10:45 a.m. Interment will be at the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Eva’s name to the LDS Humanitarian Aid Fund. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.olpinmortuary.com.
