Lloyd William Hone, age 82, passed away peacefully at his home in Pleasant Grove, Utah on October 1, 2018. He was born to Rulon J and Alta Hone on October 15, 1935 in a little house off of state street in Pleasant Grove, Utah. He attended Central Elementary, Pleasant Grove Junior High and Pleasant Grove High school. He graduated from Pleasant Grove High in 1954.He enjoyed gardening, woodworking and spending time with his family. He loved hard work and instilled a love for it in his children and grandchildren. He started working when he was 8 years old and retired well into his 70’s.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served as a missionary in the Great Lakes Mission.
Lloyd met the love of his life, Agnes Pauline Long, while he was working at the old Pleasant Grove Cannery. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on May 14, 1959. They had 6 children and found much joy and love raising them and providing for them. Lloyd was a proud Army Veteran. He was an accomplished cabinet builder and business owner. He built his own house and has loved seeing his family live in it and enjoy spending time together there.
He is survived by his children, Paula (Russell) Johnson, Julie (Kelly) Cox, Layne (Colette) Hone, Sheri Hone, Shelly (Jon) Millgate and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his Wife and his son Steven Hone.
A viewing will be held Thursday, October 4, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove, Utah. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 5, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Pleasant Grove Stake Center, 275 East 500 South, Pleasant Grove, Utah where family and friends may attend a viewing from 9:30 – 10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.olpinmortuary.com.
