Delbert MahonriSteele Proud Marine This sweet kind, gentle man was born June 17, 1929, the first child of Arthello and Eva Ahlstrom Steele. He passed away September 22, 2004 after a valiant battle with Melanoma Cancer.Delbert joined the Marines in 1947. He proudly served his country and was sent to Korea where he was severely wounded and earned a purple heart in September of 1950. He served an LDS Mission in Oklahoma. He married Lois Walker on June 1, 1956 in the Salt Lake Temple. Lois passed away in 1991. They are the proud parents of Del, David and Lynette. Delbert married Judy Mitchell Lagerstrom on July 16, 1995. They adopted Zach and Alyssa in June of 1998. Survived by his wife Judy; children, Delbert (Elizabeth), David (Jolene), Lynette (Richard) Kocherhans, Zach Steele and Alyssa Steele; step children Troy (Gayle) Frampton, Pyper Frampton, Ryan Frampton, Shelayne Cross; 19 grandchildren; one great- granddaughter; sister Lois and brother Arthello. Preceded in death by his parents and stepson Corey Frampton. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 27, 2004 at 12 noon in the Cottonwood L.D.S. Chapel, 1750 East Spring Lane. Friends may call Sunday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at Mountain View Memorial Estates, 3115 East 7800 South (Bengal Blvd.) and one hour prior to services on Monday at the ward.
