Virgil C Walker - 3/25/1995

Virgil C. Walker, 74, of Lindon, died March 25, 1995 at the American Fork Hospital.

He was born May 18, 1920 in Pleasant Grove, a son of Perry Lorenzo and Venus Clark Walker. He married Norma Jones, June 6, 1946 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died in June of 1972. He married Helen R. Walker, August 3, 1973.He was an active member of the LDS Church, holding the office of High Priest in the Lindon 7th Ward. He attended schools in Lindon and Pleasant Grove. He was elected Student Body President of Pleasant Grove High in 1938. He later graduated from the University of Utah. He was a self employed accountant and owned and operated a motel, restaurant, and office supply in Cody, Wyoming. He was later employed as an accountant at Walker Oil Co. of Pleasant Grove. He served in the U.S. Navy for seven years during World War II. He was a Navy pilot stationed at Pearl Harbor during the air raid in 1941. He loved to fly throughout his adult life. He enjoyed walking and gardening, and all kinds of cultural activities.

He is survived by his wife, of Lindon; two daughters, and two sons, Susan (David) Anderson, Salt Lake; Linda J. (Mike) Ballman, Phoenix; Val C. (Kathy) Walker, Sandy; Perry A. (Kim) Walker, Indio, California; James K. (Sonji) Walker, Pleasant Grove; three step-sons, and a step-daughter, Jay R. Walker (Carol), Karen (Roy) Wall, Jimmy Lee Walker, and Scott Walker, all of Pleasant Grove; 29 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; a sister, Lona (Glen) Rhodes, American Fork.

Services will be Tuesday, 11 a.m. at the Lindon 7th Ward, 745 East Center Street. Friends may call Monday 7-9 p.m. at Olpin Family Mortuary, 500 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove or Tuesday at the church one hour prior to services. Burial, Provo City Cemetery.
