Our beloved mom, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend, Betty Newman Hooley, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 1, 2011 at The Coventry in Cottonwood Heights, Utah.She was born February 4, 1921 in Pleasant Grove, Utah to Clarence and CoraNewman. She had two brothers and four sisters.
She married Wayne E. Hooley in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on September 12, 1940. They built their first and only home in Orem, Utah, where they lived their entire lives. Wayne preceded Betty in death on July 1989.
She continued her life in Orem at their home and was a wonderful neighbor andactive member of the LDS Church.
Betty is survived by children Gerry West (Stan, deceased), David (Jill), Mike (Marsha), fourteen grandchildren, and twenty-five great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2011 in the Windsor Fourth Ward Chapel, 1890 North 280 West, Orem, Utah. Friends may call at the Church on Saturday morning from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to the services.
Interment will be in the Orem City Cemetery.
