"Grandma Bonnie"Bonnie Jo Peterson Harmer, died Tuesday, October 25, 2005 at the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center. Bonnie suffered from severe and painful rheumatoid arthritis for 30 years and passed away apparently due to complications following a recent fall. She was born December 29, 1949 in American Fork, Utah to Madge Harris Peterson Penrod and the late Don Reed Peterson. She was raised in Pleasant Grove and attended schools in Pleasant Grove. She was very involved in school activities including drama, cheer and much more. She graduated from the BYU Nursing School.
She married James LaCell Harmer September 10, 1971 in the Salt Lake City Temple. Bonnie was an excellent and compassionate registered nurse for 34 years in all fields of nursing. She loved working and caring from people.
She was very active in the L.D.S. Church and loved her church callings. She was a temple worker in the Provo Temple and she loved the celestial feelings and surroundings of her father in heaven and the services she rendered there.
She loved to travel with her husband and friends all across the country. Bonnie and Jim loved being together going to BYU sports and other activities. She was an excellent seamstress and really loved making clothes for each of her six cherished grandchildren. She loved doing genealogy and she traced her heritage back many, many generations.
She loved to take pictures and she made several scrapbooks of kids, grandkids and their travels. She quilted and was an avid reader and very knowledgeable. She was a woman of many talents.
She is survived by her husband Jim Harmer, Springville; son, Brian J. Harmer (Adrianne) Kirkland, WA; daughter, Gina Jenkins (Tom) Princeton, NJ; mother, Madge Peterson Penrod (Ned) Benjamin, UT; and brother, Don Peterson (Marcia) Lindon, UT. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Alison, Aubree and Alese Harmer of Kirkland, WA; and Abigail, Emma and Aaron Jenkins of Princeton, NJ.
