Birth: Aug. 5, 1926 Pleasant Grove Utah County Utah, USA Death: Jun. 27, 2008 Provo Utah County Utah, USA Katherine Elizabeth Olpin Weeks, age 81, died on June 27, 2008 at The Courtyard at Jamestown in Provo, Utah. Katherine was born August 5, 1926 in Pleasant Grove, Utah to Lewis Edwin Olpin and Margaret Joseph Olpin. Katherine married Stanley L. Weeks, on June 11, 1947 in the Salt Lake Temple. They were sealed by Elder Spencer W. Kimball. Katherine attended public schools in Pleasant Grove and attended Brigham Young University. Katherine and Stan lived in Provo, Utah, Cody, Wyoming and settled in Walnut Creek, California where they raised 7 children. Stan and Katherine moved to Stockton, CA after raising their family and after Stan's death, Katherine moved to Seattle and lived with daughter Colleen. She was active in the community and civic affairs. Katherine was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in all of the auxiliaries. She served a full-time mission at the Washington D.C. Temple. She also served as a temple worker for many years in the Oakland and Seattle LDS Temples. Katherine is survived by her children, Alan of Riverside, CA; Paul (Ann) of Orangvale, CA; Mark (Stacey) of Carson City, NV; Jim (Deana) of El Dorado Hills, CA; John (Stephanie) of Kent, WA; and David (Linda) of Lodi, CA. She has 22 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two of her sisters, Elaine Westover, Jewel Knight and her brother, Gerald Olpin. Katherine was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley and her daughter, Colleen. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Dee Olpin and her sister LuJean Sundberg. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in the Cascade Chapel at Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State Street, Orem. Friends may call one hour prior to the Services. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery. Published in the Daily Herald on 7/3/2008.
