Ruth Robbins Gamette, 90, of Provo, Utah passed away April 21, 2011, peacefully surrounded by her family.Ruth was born November 29, 1920 to Ruelon and Mary Alta Robbins in Lindon, Utah. She graduated from Pleasant Grove High School. She married her sweetheart, Don Vernon Gamette, on August 26, 1938 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She and Don lived in Orem; Bellevue, WA; Provo; and Saint George, UT. He preceded her in death on March 18, 1992.
Ruth loved family traditions and devoted her life to her family. She treasured her relationships with her grandchildren and their spouses always taking a great interest in their accomplishments. Ruth was known as a great caregiver blessing the lives of others by tenderly caring for ill friends and family including Don and their parents. Ruth was an elegant lady.
Ruth loved reading, painting, quilting, crocheting, traveling, watching the news, and going for "a nice ride" with her husband. Her passion for books encouraged her children and grandchildren to love reading. Her heart always yearned for the warmth of Saint George. Ruth was an active member in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints having served in all its auxiliaries.
She is survived by her children Leontine Gamette, daughter-in-law; Kent (Sharon) Gamette; LuAnn Gamette March; Leland (Hilda) Gamette: 14 grandchildren, and 45 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Jay Gamette; sister Ada Adamson; and brother Harold Robbins.
