Norma Jean Ostler (Brown) - 1/3/2018

Class of 1950

Norma Jean Ostler Brown
1932 - 2018

Early Life: She was born March 31, 1932, in Spring Canyon [aka: Storrs], Utah. She was raised there as well as Orem, Utah. She graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 1950.
Life’s Work | Service | Interests: On Febuary 14, 1951, she married Eben Ray Brown Jr. in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Norma and Ray were the parents of eight children. She was a devoted mother and wife who always kept a clean, tidy home and was a great cook. An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Norma served in many ward and stake callings. Her two favorite callings were serving as ward librarian and working as an ordinance worker in the temple. She served a full-time mission at the Lindon LDS Bishops’ Storehouse. Norma believed in service to the community. She served as a Voter Registration Agent and as an Election Judge for over 60 years. She served as the North Union Irrigation Company Secretary for over 43 years. It was her job to help schedule the water turns each year and much headache and frustration on the water user’s part was prevented by her hard work and diligence. Her home was always a special place for her grandchildren to visit. She was always willing to play games, pop popcorn and watch movies. A special treat was being able to sleep over at her home. She would tuck everyone in with a hug and a kiss and in the morning she would make them a special breakfast. Norma Jean Ostler Brown, of Lindon, Utah, beloved mother, grandmother, great aunt and great grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home January 3, 2018. She was 85.
