Jerald Orson Meeks, age 92, passed away January 29, 2013 in Clermont, FL.He was born on February 26, 1920 in Mt. View, Alberta, Canada to James O. Meeks and Margaret Mae Earl. He attended Pleasant Grove High School and the University of Utah. He married Ruth Baggaley on August 27, 1942 in Phoenix, AZ and were sealed in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple on February 26, 1946. Jerald will be remembered as a kind, gentle, humble follower of Christ, a loving husband, devoted father and wonderful grandfather who always chose to spend time with his family. He had a happy twinkle in his blue eyes and a ready smile for all. Jerald served in WWII as a B-17 pilot. His family is grateful for his legacy of faith.
Jerald is survived by Ruth Baggaley, wife of 70 years; children, Pamela (Richard) Smith, J. Craig (Deborah) Meeks; sister, Iris Speakman; 8 grandchildren and 24 Great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents James O. Meeks and Margaret Earl, brother Arden and sister Beth Pierce.
Services will be held Saturday, February 9 at 2:00 PM at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary Chapel, 3401 South Highland Drive, with a viewing 1 hour prior to the service.
