Mary Neves (Adamson) - 10/16/2002

Class of 1945

Mary Neves Adamson left this telestial world October 16, 2002 to live with her eternal companion, Karl Blaine Adamson. Mary was born July 20, 1927 to Wilford and Mary Eliza Carling Neves in Burlington, WY. She was the youngest of seven children, Erna (Ivan Allen), Elda (Arles Steiner), Beth, LaVerle (Ernest Makin, Wayne Day), Leslie (Gay), and Dawna (Floyd Randall, LeGrand Adamson).

Soon afterwards their family moved to Pleasant Grove, UT. She graduated from Pleasant Grove High School. While attending Brigham Young University, she met Karl Adamson, American Fork, UT at a Friday afternoon dance. He had just returned from fighting in the 32nd Infantry Division during World War II.

They were married Aug 28, 1946 by Elder Joseph Fielding Smith in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They have twelve children (six by birth, and six by marriage), Ron (Rose), Spokane, WA, Douglas (Patricia), Corcoran, CA, Kathleen (Vanner Johnson), North Salt Lake, UT, Mary Ann (Craig Binks), Sandy, UT, Jay (Karen), West Jordan, UT, and Rob (Sharyl), Salt Lake City, UT. They have 40 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren.

Mary's life was full of music. As a young child her mother taught her to play the piano. She taught piano in her home for many years. She shared her music with many people. Most recently she accompanied the singing group Moods N' Music. She especially loved to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with her music. We will miss her musical testimonies, but her song still sounds in our hearts.

Besides serving as a wife and mother, she served two full-time missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, one with her husband to Santa Rosa, CA where they served with the Hmong people; and another after her husband's death, Tacoma, WA. In recent years she served in the Salt Lake and the Bountiful Temples as an organist and ordinance worker.

She loved many people; and many people loved her. She is now living with those she loves beyond the veil, especially her husband; parents; sisters, Erna, Elda, Beth; brother, Leslie; three grandsons, Troy Karl Adamson, Colby Binks, Robert Alexander Adamson; and one great-granddaughter, Johanna Beck.
