Kent Allan Johnson "One Match" Kent Allan Johnson, 57, of Orem, passed away at his home Thursday, November 25, 2004. He was born February 6, 1947, in American Fork, Utah, to George Allen and Marie Nelson Johnson. He married Nadine June Jacobsen on July 31, 1970, in Orem. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Provo LDS Temple. Kent grew up in Pleasant Grove and graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 1966. He joined the U. S. Navy and was stationed in San Diego during the Vietnam War. As a youth, Kent had a passion for control line model airplanes and flew competitively. He studied photography while in the Navy and continued this hobby during his adult life. He also raced Formula 1 cars; and, at one point, raced against Mario Andretti. Kent's other passion was the Cub Scouting program, especially the Webelos. He ran Webelos Woods/X-treme in Timpanogos District for 16 years. He has served faithfully in the Timpanogos District for 18+ years. He will be remembered for his love of the Webelos. He received his Silver Beaver in 2000. Kent loved camping, shooting, reading, and spending time with his family. Everyone will miss him and his great sense of humor. At the time of his passing, he was employed at Haulmark Trailers in Springville. He had also worked for Whitewater in Lindon. He is survived by his wife, Nadine ,of Orem; four children and nine grandchildren: Travis (Shelly) Johnson - Mathew, Michael, Tyler, and Bryce, of Lehi; Karen (Richard) Case - Kodi, Jayce, and Kylie, of Orem; Eldon (Amy) Johnson - Elizabeth and Jorden, of Santaquin; Wendy Johnson, of Orem/Logan; two sisters: Alice Beal, of American Fork; and Nadine Taylor, of Glendale, CA; three brothers: Leo (Mary) Johnson, of Lehi; Ned (Linda) Johnson, of Pleasant Grove; and Dave Johnson, of American Fork; two brothers-in-law, LaMar (Evelyn) Jacobsen, of Orem; and LeRoy (Angela) Jacobsen, of Draper. The family would like to thank the people of Harmony Hospice for all their help and support. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 30, 2004, at 2 p.m., in the Suncrest Ninth Ward Chapel, 130 North 400 West, Orem. Friends may call Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove; and, at the church, on Tuesday one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery. Military Honors will be conducted by American Legion, Orem Post 72.
