Ronald G. Christensen, 65, of Pleasant Grove passed away unexpectedly from heart failure on Wednesday, April 4, 2007. Ron "Chris" was born October 24, 1941 in Salt Lake City to Earl LeRoy and Erma Haws Christensen. He married Cheryl Ann Storrs on January 12, 1961 in Provo. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Provo LDS Temple.Ron grew up in Pleasant Grove and graduated from Pleasant Grove High School. He grew up around the family business, Christensen Auto Sales in Pleasant Grove. Eventually he and his brother Jay traded car sales for used medium duty truck sales and became one of the largest used truck dealers in the west. Ron was a member of the Utah County Sheriffs Posse and served on the Strawberry Days Rodeo Committee for many years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with family and friends. He served in many church callings during his life. Sunday drives were Ron's favorite and always had a "shortcut" to his destination, which always added extra hours to the trip. He never met a stranger and loved spending time with his grandchildren, Disneyland will never be the same!
He is survived by his wife Cheryl of 47 years; three children: Ron E. (Becky) Christensen, Pleasant Grove; Sandi (Shawn) Morgan, American Fork; Jana (Lee) Maynard, Pleasant Grove; 12 grandchildren; parents: Earl (Gerry) Christensen, Pleasant Grove; siblings: LeRoy, Richard, Marla Carroll, Betty Sego, and Jay. He was preceded in death by his mother, Erma.
