Morris Bill Told - 11/20/2014

Class of 1939

Morris Bill Told October 5, 1921 ~ November 20, 2014 Born on the family farm in Pleasant Grove, Utah to Hobart Joseph and Leone Nelson Told, Bill would be raised by his mother and pioneer grandparents, John and Adaline Nelson, after the untimely death of his father. After serving his country in the Navy during World War II, he dedicated the majority of his professional life to teaching. Bills quick wit and love of history held grandchildren and visitors captive with stories of his farm and heritage. Beloved by all, Bill is survived by four children, Thomas Nelson Told, Morris William Told, Jenefer Rae Young, and David Mark Told; 9 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and his loving friend, Elaine Thomas. Bill is preceded in death by his sister, Elizabeth Mott; wife, Moya Thomas Told; son, John Edward Told; and grandson, Robert Bruce Told. The family wishes to have friends join them at a celebration of his life on Friday, November 28, 2014 at 11 am in the LDS chapel built on the site of the family homestead, 332 East 500 North, in Pleasant Grove. A viewing will precede the celebration at 10am. Family and friends may also attend a viewing in Salt Lake City Wednesday evening, November 26th from 6-8 p.m., in the LDS chapel located at 1111 East Charlton Avenue. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery. Military honors conducted by American Legion Post 72. Condolences may be sent to the family and further information obtained at www.olpinmortuary.com.
