Carol Christensen (Thomas) - 6/11/2014

Class of 1950

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Carol Christensen Thomas passed away peacefully on June 11, 2014 at the Carrington Court Care Center in South Jordan, Utah. She was born in Orem, Utah on January 19, 1932 to Eartmann H. and Lorene Vance Christensen at their home in the Orem Railroad Station where her father worked as Station Agent. At the age of 3, Carols mother Lorene passed away. Her father remarried Bernice Vance Partridge Christensen. Eventually the family moved to Pleasant Grove where Carol met her high school sweetheart Dale Dorius Thomas. Carol was on the high school track team and drill team. Dale and Carol were married February 24, 1953 in the Salt Lake Temple. They have been sweethearts ever since and are now enjoying a fond reunion with each other, their children, family, and friends.
Carols greatest joy was her family. Her home was always a gathering place for family and friends. As her family grew, she worked at American Fork Hospital in the newborn nursery, at Levens as a seamstress, and at Mountain Fuel Supply Company (Questar) as a home economist and executive secretary retiring after 25 years of service. She served as the President of the Executive Womens Association and sang with the Sweet Adeline Barbershop Group in Utah County.
Carol was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings over the years. A highlight in her life was serving as a Service Missionary at the Missionary Training Center in Provo, Utah.
