KANAB - Charlotte Heaton Young, 86, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2005 at her home in Kanab, Utah. She was born December 19, 1918 in Kanab to Israel H. and Charlotte Cox Heaton, the 9th child of 10 children. She graduated from Kanab High School in 1936 and attended USAC and BYU.

She married Clifton Young December 19, 1939, in the St. George Temple. He preceded her in death, August 7, 2000. They served as Stake missionaries at Red Lake, Arizona, and as missionaries in Texas and the Philippines. They also served as ordinance workers in the St. George Temple and in Extraction work in Kanab Stake.

Charlotte worked in all Church auxiliary organizations, both Ward and Stake. She was especially appreciated for her service as Ward Organist. She supported and assisted her husband in his callings such as Branch President at Red Lake, High Councilor and Stake Patriarch. She was serving as a visiting teacher supervisor at the time of her death.

Charlotte loved and was loved by everyone! She loved to be of service. She enjoyed sending birthday cards, giving gifts, sewing, crocheting and quilting. She loved to play the piano and give music lessons. She was a devout and valiant person, living an exemplary life of kindness and generosity. She received the 2004 Womanhood Award. Charlotte loved life, and she was prepared for death.

She will meet her husband Clifton, son Royce, five sisters and two brothers, mother and father, and many friends and relatives on the other side. She is survived by her brothers Israel H.(Arline) Heaton and LeRoy C. (Esther) Heaton, and her children Jim (Faye) Young, Joyce (Larry) Rhodes, (Sylvia) Young, DeLoy (Ranny) Young, and Susana Young. She has 29 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
