William Leon Judd - 7/21/2012

Class of 1952

Our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Leon Judd, passed away peacefully on the evening of July 21, 2012 at the age of 77. In his final hours he was surrounded by his loving family and friends.

Leon was born in Kanab, Utah September 3, 1934, to Dale and Lenore Judd. He attended Kanab High School, and played on the varsity football team. In 1954 he married Anita Watson. Over the next fifty years, Leon and Anita raised their five children, primarily in the Henderson, Nevada area where Leon worked in the HVAC industry and later as a pipefitter at the Nevada Test Site.

Leon and Anita retired to St George, Utah in 1997. They made many friends in the area and happily served in the LDS temple as temple workers. Anita passed away in 2004. Leon reunited with high school sweetheart LaRee Ramsay, and they were married in August of 2007. Over the next five years, they spent all of their time together, traveling often, and serving as temple workers. Leon also spent many hours turning wood into beautiful bowls, plates, and ornaments.

Leon is survived by his wife LaRee, his daughters Monica (Dave) Haner, Teresa Barclay, Christina (Kenny) Smith, Melissa (Harry) Barber, and his son Brian (April) Judd, as well as 30 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren, his brother Evan Judd, and his sister Carol Miles.

Funeral Services will be held in the Winchester Hills Chapel, 5338 N Winchester Dr, St George, on August 3 at 11 a.m. A viewing will be held at the Spilsbury Mortuary on 110 S Bluff on Thursday, August 2 from 6 to 8 p.m. Interment will take place in the Kanab City Cemetery
