Our beloved mother, recent grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend, Patty Glover Koffman, passed away on May 10, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer.Patty approached this final challenge as she did all things throughout her life - with faith, humor, grace and a concern for her children and loved ones.Patty was born September 11, 1954 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Boyd Glover and Marie Hansen Nicholson, later sealed to Boyd and Pauline Glover. She attended Kanab High School, was Student Body President and made many lifelong friends. After serving a full time mission in Buenos Aires Argentina for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she married Barry Koffman. They had three children who were the light of her life.As a member of the LDS Church she held many callings including Relief Society President, Relief Society Counselor, Sunday School and Primary teacher and a second mission at the Family History Center. Her love of learning motivated her to obtain a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Brigham Young University at the age of 52.Patty continued her education, volunteering as a counselor at rehabilitation centers offering compassion to those trying to overcome substance abuse. Her humor and sense of unconditional acceptance knew no boundaries.
Patty danced her way through the last few years, attending dances at the Murray Art Center whenever she could.Along with her continued love of learning, it became one of her favorite pastimes. How lucky we are to have known someone that will be so deeply missed. As is her nature, she requested that a sincere and heartfelt thanks be extended to her family members, friends, hospice workers, caregivers and members of the Holiday 10th Ward.
