James Bonham - 6/14/2010

Class of 1971

James Cram Bonham, beloved husband and father lived a life well lived. He died in his home at Kanab, UT on June 14, 2010 after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Kanab, September 9, 1953 to Gilbert Claytus "Abe" and Edith Cram Bonham. He married Angela Jones February 15, 1974 in Las Vegas, NV and was later sealed to his family in the St. George Temple June 25, 1991.

Jim was very driven and bought his first business in Provo, UT at the young age of twenty-one. He later sold it so he could move back to his red-rock roots and raise his family among family and friends in Kanab and be closer to help his father. He was the owner of Kanab Tire Center for over twenty five years.

Ultimately, he loved being with his family. He was always eager to teach and counsel them. Jim taught his kids many important lessons in life. His family is so proud of him and especially the lessons he taught them the last couple of years. Those lessons will never be forgotten. He loved traveling, boating, golfing, fishing and hunting. Jim was the "man with the plan" and loved to plan family outings, vacations, etc. his greatest joy was spending time with his seven grandchildren who will forever call him "Papa".

Jim was generous by nature and whether it was stopping to help someone on the side of the road, extending a welcoming hand or an anonymous donation to a struggling friend, Jim was always willing to give of his time and means to benefit another. The stories are endless of Jim's selfless service to his fellow-man.

Jim loved the majestic red-rock hills of Kanab and even when he was away.. he always called it home. He knew every dirt road in the area and seemed to have a story to go along with each. His life is a leagacy to his friends, children and grandchildren and he will be missed by many.

He is survived by his wife Angela of Kanab, son Aaron and his wife Colette of Enoch, UT, daughter Kacie and her husband Wes Troy of Kanab, UT, sister-in-law Sally Bonham, sister Pamela and her husband Jim Barber of Newberry Springs, California and seven beautiful grandchildren, Easton, Abbey, Tyler & Max Bonham, Shayden, Cooper & Tavi Troy. A "fuzzy", in this case, is a feeling or an emotion like "I miss you", "I love you", or just "thinking of you". Fuzzies can be left every day.
