Derek Shawn Heap, age 34, passed away on January 5, 2012. He was born on April 14, 1977 to Theran Walter and Karla Jill Hamilton Heap. Derek graduated from Cedar High School, was an Eagle Scout, and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He was married to Tiana Dobson, later divorced, then married to Ambree Blackner, later divorced. Derek worked at various jobs but mostly in construction. He loved working with the heavy equipment and was an expert in using them.

Derek loved fishing, motorbikes, being in the mountains and hiking with friends. He enjoyed going to Rodeos and loved riding bulls. He was so good with kids and had fun being around them. He was always willing to help out anyone in need. Derek you fought many battles with drugs. The drugs won this battle but now you have the opportunity to win the war.

Derek is survived by his parents Theran & Jill Heap. Sisters; Casey Heap & Brenna (Jerry) Jackson. And grandparents; Theran J. & Anita Heap, and Naomi Hamilton. He is preceded in death by his grandfather Willard Hamilton.
