Our beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend, Mary Ellen Davis Beam passed away on September 29, 2009, at LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. Mary was born on July 30, 1952 in Logan, Utah to Lawrence and Ellen Davis. She was a great and loved woman, who lived a truly remarkable life.Mary graduated from Cedar High and went on to attend SUU, where she received a bachelor’s degree in psychology. She then attended Utah State University, where she received a master’s degree in family and human development and a master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling.
Mary married Joseph Beam on March 17, 1972. Together, they had three daughters, who they truly adored. Mary was a warm, loving and giving person and will be missed greatly by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Mary is survived by her daughters Sarah (Mike) Prisbrey of Logan, Utah, and Greta and Christy Beam, both of Cedar City, Utah. Also her treasured grandchildren Lance and Lexie Prisbrey, Hayley Beam and Paige Berg and her mother Ellen Davis of Cedar City. Her sisters Kristine Emerson, Carol (Jeff) Adams, and Jenny (Daryl) Hulet all of Cedar City and Ruth (Bob) Robison of Murray, Utah. Her brothers John (Hanna) Davis of Washington, Ken (Becky) Davis of Salt Lake City, James (Kristine) Davis of Cedar City and Dick (Kim) Davis of Salt Lake.
We are certain a joyous reunion is taking place now, as Mary is preceded in death by her husband Joseph, and her father, Lawrence.
