Clarence "Chick" Dale Hawkins - 2/3/2012

Class of 1967

SOUTH OGDEN – Clarence "Chick" Dale Hawkins returned home to his Heavenly Father Friday, February 3, 2012. Chick was born December 22, 1948 in Caliente, Nevada to Thomas Howard Hawkins and Lou Ella Robinson. He married Karolyn Bennett March 24, 1973 in the St. George LDS Temple.

Chick graduated from Cedar City High School in 1967. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. Chick was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He had a strong testimony of the gospel and shared it in many different ways. Chick was a Master Mechanic and worked his way into a management position for Sears and Roebuck. He also worked for Defense Depot of Ogden, Hill AFB and Fort Carson in Colorado.

Chick loved working on cars, fixing things, spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping and loved to play golf. Chick loved his family and worked hard throughout his life to make sure their needs were met. He let it be known that his grandchildren were always welcome but their parents were by appointment only.


Chick is survived by his wife, Karolyn; his three sons, Bruce K. (Heidi) of Springville, Brooks (Amy) of West Jordan and Dale (Candice) of Layton; two daughters, Heidi Bennett of Ogden and Joylynn (Calvin) Duncan of Washington Terrace; 22 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren on the way. Chick is also survived by 3 brothers, Howard (Debbie) of Defiance, Iowa, Bill (Maggie) of Desert Hot Springs, California and David (Joy) Hawkins of Ogden; two sisters Betty (Larry) Reeves of Enterprise and Rosalie (Michael) Williams of Kanarraville, Utah

He is preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Thomas Howard Hawkins, Jr. and Michael Lee Hawkins; granddaughter Caitlyn.
