Lonnie Mitchell - 6/17/2010

Class of 1980

Our Beloved Son, Father, and Brother passed away June 17, 2010 in Enoch, UT.

Lonnie William Mitchell was born May 7, 1962 in Cedar City, UT. to Garlan William, and Ruth Marie Mitchell, Lonnie was raised in Cedar City.

After High School, during the gas crunch of the early eighty's Lonnie hired on with Pacific West Exploration to join in the search for oil. He was constantly on the move from town to town, state to state, leaving his footprints and making many friends on his journey through life. Lonnie was also a certified welder supervising the construction of cell phone towers, managed a JB's restaurant in Santa Fe N.M., and was a sub-contractor installing satellite systems in Albuquerque, N.M.
Lonnie loved the outdoors, NASCAR, golfing, and bowling, but most of all his two children Brook & Bryce.

He worked for all that he had right up until the time he was diagnosed with cancer in May 2010. He then chose to move back to Utah to live out the remainder of his life, close to his family. Unfortunately that time was very short.

Lonnie was preceded in death by his mother Ruth Marie (Bauer) Mitchell. He is survived by his father Garlan (Mary) Mitchell, Sister Melanie Orton, Brothers Rickie (Sonya) Mitchell, Robbie (Mary) Mitchell, and Troy Mitchell. His first wife Kayla G. Marler, second wife Vivian Herrera, daughter Brooke Marie Mitchell, and son Bryce William Mitchell, daughter and son of Vivian Herrera. As time passed he remarried Kayla G. Marler Mitchell, although at the time of his death, they had been separated for over three years.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Southern Utah Home Care & Hospice, their caring for Lonnie was second to none. The family would also like to thank Lonnie's friends in Albuquerque, helping in every way possible, making sure his needs were pertained to.

Lonnie was loved, and both family and friends will miss him dearly.
