Jaqueline Heap Matheson - 7/12/2005

Class of 1962

Jaqueline (Jackie) Heap Matheson passed away on July 12, 2005 in Cedar City, Utah after a long courageous battle with several illnesses. Jackie was born on January 29, 1944 in Salt Lake City, Utah to J. Elmo and Dorothy Heap. She married her high school sweetheart Don A. Matheson on August 28, 1965. Their marriage was later solemnized in the St. George Temple.

Jackie was always so sweet and caring of others. She accepted everyone for who they were no matter what their circumstances were. She will always be remembered for her kindness and generosity.

Jackie grew up in Cedar City. She attended Cedar High School where she was Class Vice President and involved in many other school activities. She had many close friends whom she has remained close throughout her life. She then went on to attend college where she earned an elementary teaching degree and taught for several years for the Iron County School District. She then decided to stop teaching so she could stay home and raise her family.

Jackie was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved the gospel. She faithfully served in many callings. She was indeed a loving daughter, sister, mother and wife. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.

Jackie is preceded in death by her loving husband Don A. She is survived by her parents J. Elmo and Dorothy Heap, brother Russell (Arlene) Heap, children Stefanie (Gary) Holyoak, Leslie (Neil) Orton, Coby Matheson and Abby (Kennan) Imlay, all of Cedar City, Utah. She had 8 grandchildren who were her pride and joy.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Hospice and Kolob Regional for the special care given to our mother.
