James Bruce Bowman, 20, of Cedar City, died May 16, 1976 of a gunshot wound in Craig, Colorado, where he had been living with his relatives, the Theron Foster Family, for the past year. Jimmy was born July 23, 1955 in Cedar City to DeMar “Bud” and Marilyn Jackson Bowman. He was a member of the LDS Church and a former member of the Brianhead Ski Team. He worked in California and Arizona for Western Geophysical Company and was currently employed in Craig, Colorado with Bob’s 66 Station. Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bud Bowman, grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Frank Jackson, and Mrs. Flora Bowman all of Cedar City; one brother and three sisters: Spencer D. Bowman, Manila; Mrs. Dustin (Diane) Mundy of Fillmore; Louise Bowman and Jeanne Bowman, both of Cedar City; three nieces and two nephews. Funeral services were held Wednesday May 19th, 1976 at 1:00 p.m. in the LDS sixth ward chapel with Bishop Rett Shakespear conducting. Interment was in the Cedar City cemetery under the direction of Met calf Southern Utah Mortuary.
