Class of 1988
Lori Ann Blackner MyersCedar City, Utah
Our dear mother, daughter, sister and aunt, Lori Ann Blackner Myers, returned to the loving arms of her Heavenly Father September 16, 2015 after a long courageous battle with Breast Cancer. Lori was born October 16, 1970 in Cedar City, Utah to Bruce and Colleen Blackner where she lived her life of 44 years. Lori married Destry Myers on November 16, 1991 and later divorced. Together they had 5 children.
Lori was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She had a strong testimony of the gospel and loved her savior Jesus Christ. Lori dedicated her service in the Primary for 9 years, 4 of which she served as the President. She loved working with the children of her ward and had a love for primary songs. Her last calling in the church was in the Young Women's Program. She loved those young women and they loved her.
Lori's greatest accomplishment in life was raising and caring for her 4 boys. She lived her life for them, supporting them in anything and everything that they did right up until the time of her passing.
Lori always put others first even while she was fighting her own battle with cancer. She was a great example to all and the perfect role model of a wife, mother, daughter, sister, granddaughter and aunt. She was well known for her contagious smile and positive attitude at all times.
Lori worked the last 23 years at Walmart where she was well respected and made numerous lasting friendships.
Lori was preceded in death by her infant daughter Shelby Ann and her grandparents Talmage and Yvonne McDonough. She is survived by her four boys Kason, Kaleb, Korby and Koy, her parents Bruce and Colleen Blackner, siblings Natalie (Rodney) Aldrich, Leslie (Jason) Winn, Burke (Amy) Blackner, and Danielle (Carson) Gubler, her grandparents Kenneth and Carol Blackner, and many nieces and nephews. Lori left a great legacy and she will be dearly missed.
Funeral Services will be held Monday September 21, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Cedar North Stake Center 95 North 2125 West.
