Arlo Tejada - 12/5/2014
Class of 1998
Arlo Tejada died peacefully in the early morning hours of December 5 at the age of 34 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Arlo's passing came after surviving a long illness and long battle to continue his life as he enjoyed. He was a life-long river rafter and had co-owned Sheri Griffith River Expeditions since 2003. Arlo loved exploring and photographing the landscape of his home community, and running rivers, mountain biking, moonlit hikes, and camping were just some of the ways he found joy in his life. He loved these activities almost as much as he loved his large network of friends and family.Arlo is survived by his father, Jose Tejada, brother, Obe Tejada, and sister, Emma Tejada, of Moab, Utah, as well as his mother, Liz Ford, of Colorado Springs. Arlo was born on Father’s Day, June 15, 1980 in Fort Collins, Colorado to Jose and Liz. His family moved to Moab early in his life, and Arlo attended Grand County High School, graduating in 1998. The next step in Arlo's life took him to Westminster College, from which he graduated with a dual degree in business and marketing in 2002. Arlo found his way back home to the community he loved after graduation, where he would live for remainder of his life.
