Zach Taylor, a 20-year old Moab man, died in a tragic rappelling accident the evening of March 13 while camping with a group of friends near Pritchett Canyon.Taylor, who graduated from GCHS in 2010, was involved in a variety of activities while he was a student, including writing a regular humor column for The Devils’ Advocate . He also wrestled and played football and soccer for the Red Devils, and was named the male athlete of the year his senior year. Also that year, he played the role of the mute king in the school musical “Once Upon a Mattress.” He was known for his friendliness, his adventurous spirit, and his sense of humor.
Taylor is survived by numerous family members, including his father, Tom Taylor (and wife Jeanette), his mother Kristin Millis (and husband Bruce), siblings Zane Taylor, Allyssa Keogh, Abigail Taylor, and Emma Millis, along with many other extended family members and friends.
A memorial service was held March 23, with burial following at Grand Valley Cemetery in Moab.
